IES officers are selected by the union government on the recommendations made by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). (Engineering) or AMIE in Electrical / Electrical & Electronics / Power Systems and High Voltage / Power Plant Engineering from a University / Institution established by Law in India or a Degree of a Foreign University or Institution declared by the competent authority equivalent to a Degree in Engineering of a University established by Law in India. 2.
